Facebook Integration
'Connect Facebook to Supervity, authorize access, and use Facebook Page data and actions in operators and workflows.'
This guide explains how to connect Facebook to Supervity, what data is available after connection, how operators can use Facebook data and actions within workflows, and how to remove the integration when needed.
Overview
The Supervity Facebook integration allows your workspace to securely connect Facebook as a governed platform capability.
Once connected, operators and workflows can use Facebook data and actions to automate social media management, retrieve page analytics, manage community engagement, and coordinate marketing efforts across systems.
With the Facebook integration, Supervity can:
- Access information about Facebook Pages you manage
- Retrieve and publish posts on Page feeds
- Manage and moderate comments on Page posts
- Like or unlike posts as a Page
- Access Page insights and engagement analytics
- Retrieve user profile information
- Use Facebook data as context for operators
- Trigger workflows based on Page activity
All Facebook access is governed through Supervity's security, permissions, and audit controls.
Prerequisites
Before connecting Facebook, ensure you have:
- An active Supervity workspace
- A Facebook account with administrative or editor access to the Pages you wish to manage
- Permission to authorize applications on your Facebook account
- Access to the Facebook Pages containing the data you want to use
Note: Some engagement features and insights require the Facebook account to have specific roles (Admin, Editor, or Moderator) on the relevant Facebook Pages.

- Complete audit logging
- TLS 1.3 for all API and UI connections
All Facebook access remains subject to Supervity security policies and role-based permissions.
Managing the Integration
View Connection Status
From the left navigation bar, click the Integrations icon.
For Facebook you can view:
- Connection status
- Granted permissions
- Last usage information
- Associated workflows and operators
Reconnect Facebook
If Facebook authorization expires or permissions change:
- Open the Integrations page from the left navigation bar.
- Select Facebook.
- Click Reconnect.
- Complete authorization again.
Existing workflows and operators do not need to be recreated.
Removing the Facebook Integration
You can remove the Facebook connection from your Supervity workspace at any time directly from within the Supervity platform.
Steps to Remove
- Log in to Supervity.
- From the left navigation bar, click the Integrations icon.
- Locate and select Facebook from the integrations list.
- Click Disconnect.
- Confirm the action when prompted.
Implications of Removal
Once removed:
- Supervity immediately loses all access to your Facebook account and managed Pages
- No new Facebook data will be read or processed after removal
- All active Facebook connections within your Supervity workspace are terminated
- Scheduled or active workflows that depend on Facebook will stop executing
- Facebook-dependent workflow steps will fail safely with clear error messages
- Existing workflow definitions within Supervity are not deleted — only the Facebook connection is terminated
- Historical execution logs remain available for auditing purposes
Disconnecting Facebook does not delete workflow definitions, operators, or previously generated outputs.
How Your Data Is Handled After Removal
Data Handling on Removal:
- Supervity immediately loses access to your Facebook account upon removal
- No new Facebook data will be collected or processed after disconnection
- Temporary data processed during workflow execution are deleted after execution completes
- Facebook access tokens and all account-related data are permanently deleted from Supervity's platform within 15 minutes of disconnection — no background access continues after removal
Deauthorization Handling
When you disconnect Facebook from Supervity, Supervity:
- Revokes and permanently deletes all stored access tokens and account-related data for your Facebook account within 15 minutes
- Terminates all active Facebook connections associated with your workspace
- Stops all scheduled or active workflows that depend on Facebook access
- Logs the disconnection event for audit and compliance purposes
Auditing & Observability
All Facebook activity performed through Supervity is logged.
Audit records include:
- Which operator requested access
- Which workflow executed the action
- Timestamp of execution
- Success or failure status
- Relevant inputs and outputs (redacted when sensitive)
This supports compliance, troubleshooting, governance, and operational visibility.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues at any stage, refer to the steps below. For issues not covered here, contact the Supervity support team.
Authorization Failed During Setup
Likely Cause: Incorrect Facebook account used, or the account does not have permission to manage Pages.
Resolution:
- Ensure you are signed in to the correct Facebook account in your browser.
- Confirm you have administrative or editor roles on the Pages you want to connect.
- Return to Supervity → Integrations → Facebook and click Connect to retry.
- If the issue persists, check your Facebook "Business Integrations" settings.
Facebook Page Not Appearing in List
Likely Cause: The Page was not selected during the initial authorization flow, or the user lacks permissions.
Resolution:
- Reconnect the integration via Integrations → Facebook → Reconnect.
- During the Facebook authorization popup, ensure you select all the Pages you want Supervity to access.
- Verify your role on the Facebook Page is "Admin" or "Editor".
Unable to Post or Comment
Likely Cause: The integration is attempting to use a User Token instead of a Page Token, or permissions are insufficient.
Resolution:
- Ensure you have granted "Manage Pages" and "Publish" permissions during setup.
- Verify the Page ID is correct.
- Reconnect the integration to refresh the Page-level access tokens.
Connection Expired or Token Invalid
Likely Cause: OAuth tokens may expire or be revoked if the Facebook password was changed or for security reasons.
Resolution:
- Go to Integrations → Facebook → Reconnect.
- Complete the Facebook authorization flow again.
- Existing workflows do not need to be reconfigured after reconnection.
Insights or Analytics Data Missing
Likely Cause: The Page has not met the minimum activity threshold, or "Read Insights" permission was not granted.
Resolution:
- Confirm the Page has enough followers and activity to generate insights.
- Ensure you approved the "Insights" permission during authorization.
- Check if the specific metric requested (e.g., impressions) is available for the selected time period.
Workflow Cannot Access Facebook
Likely Cause: Facebook may have been disconnected, or workspace governance policies may restrict access.
Resolution:
- Confirm Facebook is still connected under the Integrations page.
- Verify the workflow has permission to use Facebook within your workspace governance settings.
- Check that workspace policies allow Facebook execution for the relevant operators or workflows.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is my Facebook password shared with or stored by Supervity?
No. Supervity uses Facebook's standard OAuth 2.0 authorization flow. Your Facebook password is never shared with or stored by Supervity. Only scoped access tokens are stored, and these are encrypted at rest using AES-256.
Q: Can I manage multiple Facebook Pages with one connection?
Yes. During the authorization process, you can select all the Pages you manage. Supervity will be able to interact with any Page you have granted permission for.
Q: Will I need to reconfigure my workflows after reconnecting Facebook?
No. If you reconnect Facebook due to token expiry or permission changes, existing workflow definitions and operators do not need to be recreated or reconfigured.
Q: What happens to my workflows if I disconnect or remove Facebook?
Workflow definitions are not deleted when Facebook is disconnected or removed. However, any workflow steps that depend on Facebook will fail safely with clear error messages until Facebook is reconnected.
Q: How do I authorize the Supervity Facebook integration?
Log in to Supervity at Supervity, navigate to the Integrations page from the left navigation bar, locate Facebook, and click Connect. You will be redirected to Facebook's authorization page where you can review and approve the requested permissions. After authorization, you will be redirected back to Supervity automatically. See the Adding the Facebook Integration section above for full step-by-step instructions.
Q: Why can't I see comments on a post?
Reading comments requires specific permissions to access user-generated content on a Page. Ensure that you have granted "Read Engagement" and "Read User Content" permissions during the connection process.
