Shopify Integration
'Connect Shopify to Supervity, manage products, orders, customers, inventory, collections, and fulfillments in operators and workflows.'
This guide explains how to connect Shopify to Supervity, what data is available after connection, how operators can use Shopify data and actions within workflows, and how to remove the integration when needed.
Overview
The Supervity Shopify integration allows your workspace to securely connect Shopify as a governed platform capability.
Once connected, operators and workflows can use Shopify data and actions to manage store listings, retrieve and update customer orders, sync stock levels, compile customer lists, and streamline order fulfillments.
With the Shopify integration, Supervity can:
- List and view products, including creating, updating, or deleting listings
- List and view orders, including creating, updating, closing, or canceling orders
- Manage customer profiles, details, and search query attributes
- Track and adjust inventory levels across different locations
- Create, update, and manage custom collections
- Manage fulfillments, tracking information, and fulfillment orders
- Retrieve product variants and location configurations
- Use Shopify data as context for operators
- Trigger workflows based on store activity
All Shopify access is governed through Supervity's security, permissions, and audit controls.
Prerequisites
Before connecting Shopify, ensure you have:
- An active Supervity workspace
- An active Shopify store (live production store OR a development/sandbox store)
- Staff or administrator permissions on the Shopify store to authorize apps
- The shop's domain (e.g.
mystore.myshopify.com)
Adding the Shopify Integration
Follow these steps to connect Shopify to Supervity. If you encounter any issues during setup, refer to the Troubleshooting section of this guide.
Step 1: Open Integrations
- Log in to Supervity.
- From the left navigation bar, click the Integrations icon.
This opens the Integrations page, where all available integrations are listed.
Step 2: Select Shopify
- Locate Shopify in the available integrations list.
- Click Connect.
Step 3: Enter Shop Domain
In the connection dialog, enter your Shopify store domain. You must enter the
full .myshopify.com domain (e.g., mystore.myshopify.com or with the
https:// prefix, such as https://mystore.myshopify.com). Entering only the
subdomain identifier (e.g., mystore) is not supported.
Click Connect to proceed.
Step 4: Authorize Access
You will be redirected to the secure Shopify admin authorization page.
Review the requested permissions and click Install app (or Allow) to grant Supervity access to your store.
- Supervity uses Shopify's standard OAuth 2.0 authorization flow.
- Your Shopify credentials are never shared with or stored by Supervity.
Step 5: Complete Connection
After authorization, you will be redirected back to Supervity.
The Shopify integration will appear as Connected on the Integrations page. Your workspace can now securely access Shopify capabilities according to the permissions granted.
How Shopify Works in Supervity
After connection, Shopify becomes available as a governed platform tool.
Operators can use Shopify capabilities when planning and executing tasks, while workflows can automate actions using Shopify data.
Common use cases include:
- Syncing catalog items with internal databases or external marketplaces
- Automating draft order creation for wholesale clients
- Moderating customer records and syncing lists with CRM platforms
- Keeping inventory levels synchronized across multi-channel stores
- Automatically updating shipping tracking details
Using Shopify in Operators
Connected Shopify capabilities become available to operators automatically. Operators determine when Shopify data or actions are required to complete a task and execute accordingly, while remaining governed by workspace permissions, security controls, and approval policies.
What Operators Can Do with Shopify
Operators can perform the following actions using Shopify:
- List, fetch, create, update, and delete products
- List, fetch, create, update, cancel, and close orders
- List, search, fetch, create, update, and delete customer profiles
- View and adjust stock quantities and inventory levels
- Create, modify, and delete custom product collections
- List, create, update, and cancel fulfillments and tracking info
- List, create, update, and delete product variants
- Query store locations and configuration details
Typical Operator Use Cases

| Customer Enrichment | Update client records in Shopify based on form submissions |
| Order Fulfillment | Generate fulfillments and input tracking numbers |
| Collections Mapping | Sort products into matching marketing collections |
| Location Inquiries | Map physical warehouses to Shopify inventory slots |

Managing the Integration
View Connection Status
From the left navigation bar, click the Integrations icon.
For Shopify you can view:
- Connection status
- Connected store domain
- Last usage information
- Associated workflows and operators
Reconnect Shopify
If Shopify authorization expires:
- Open the Integrations page from the left navigation bar.

Steps to Remove
- Log in to Supervity.
- From the left navigation bar, click the Integrations icon.
- Locate and select Shopify from the integrations list.
- Click Disconnect.
- Confirm the action when prompted.
Implications of Removal
Once removed:
- Supervity immediately loses all access to your Shopify store and data
- No new Shopify data will be read or processed
- All active Shopify connections are terminated
- Workflows that depend on Shopify will stop executing and fail safely
- Historical execution logs remain available for auditing purposes
Disconnecting Shopify does not delete workflow definitions, operators, or previously generated outputs.
Troubleshooting
Shop Domain Verification Failed
Likely Cause: Incorrect shop domain entered during the connection step.
Resolution:
- Ensure you enter the full
.myshopify.comdomain (e.g.,mystore.myshopify.comorhttps://mystore.myshopify.com). Entering only the subdomain (e.g.,mystore) is not supported. - Do not include
http://or subfolders in the domain field (thoughhttps://is supported). - Confirm that the store is currently online and active.
Authorization Failed During Setup
Likely Cause: Incorrect Shopify store or account used, or insufficient permissions to authorize applications.
Resolution:
- Ensure you are signed in to the correct Shopify store as an owner or administrator.
- Confirm your Shopify user account has permission to install and authorize applications.
- Return to Supervity → Integrations → Shopify and click Connect to retry.
- If the issue persists, contact your Shopify store administrator.
Missing Inventory or Fulfillments
Likely Cause: Insufficient permissions on the connected staff or admin account.
Resolution:
- Ensure the Shopify user account used during authorization has permissions to view and manage inventory and fulfillments.
- Reconnect the integration using an Administrator account to grant full permissions.
