Microsoft To-Do Integration

'Connect Microsoft To-Do to Supervity, authorize access, and use task lists, tasks, and real-time triggers in operators and workflows.'

This guide explains how to connect Microsoft To-Do to Supervity, what data is available after connection, how operators can use Microsoft To-Do data and actions within workflows, and how to remove the integration when needed.

Overview

The Supervity Microsoft To-Do integration allows your workspace to securely connect Microsoft To-Do as a governed platform capability.

Once connected, operators and workflows can use Microsoft To-Do data and actions to automate personal and team task management, create and organize task lists, track action items, update task statuses, and respond in real time when tasks are created or modified.

With the Microsoft To-Do integration, Supervity can:

  • Retrieve and list task lists from your Microsoft To-Do account
  • Create new task lists to organize projects and workflows
  • List tasks within specific task lists with status and importance details
  • Create new tasks with titles, descriptions, and due dates
  • Retrieve full task details by task identifier
  • Update existing task titles, descriptions, due dates, and completion statuses
  • Delete completed or obsolete tasks from task lists
  • Trigger workflows in real time when tasks are created or updated
  • Use task and list data as operational context for AI operators

All Microsoft To-Do access is governed through Supervity's security, permissions, and audit controls.

Prerequisites

How Microsoft To-Do Works in Supervity

After connection, Microsoft To-Do becomes available as a governed platform tool.

Operators can use Microsoft To-Do capabilities when planning and executing tasks, while workflows can automate actions and listen to task change events in real time.

Common use cases include:

  • Creating follow-up tasks automatically when emails, meetings, or customer conversations conclude
  • Setting up dedicated task lists for new projects, clients, or team initiatives
  • Marking tasks as completed when downstream workflows or verification steps finish
  • Triggering automated workflows whenever a user creates or completes a task in a specific list
  • Synchronizing task statuses between Microsoft To-Do and project management platforms like Jira or Linear
  • Consolidating daily action items into morning summaries and digests

Using Microsoft To-Do in Operators

Connected Microsoft To-Do capabilities become available to operators automatically. Operators determine when Microsoft To-Do data or actions are required to complete a task and execute accordingly, while remaining governed by workspace permissions, security controls, and approval policies.

What Operators Can Do with Microsoft To-Do

Operators can perform the following actions using Microsoft To-Do:

  • Retrieve all task lists associated with the account
  • Create new task lists with custom display names
  • List tasks inside a selected task list with status and priority details

  3. Click Reconnect.
  4. Complete authorization again through the Microsoft portal.

Existing workflows and operators do not need to be recreated.

Removing the Microsoft To-Do Integration

You can remove the Microsoft To-Do connection from your Supervity workspace at any time directly from within the Supervity platform.

Steps to Remove

  1. Log in to Supervity.
  2. From the left navigation bar, click the Integrations icon.
  3. Locate and select Microsoft To-Do from the integrations list.
  4. Click Disconnect.
  5. Confirm the action when prompted.

Implications of Removal

Once removed:

  • Supervity immediately loses all access to your Microsoft To-Do account and associated data
  • Active webhook subscriptions for task notifications are automatically cancelled and deleted
  • All active Microsoft To-Do connections within your Supervity workspace are terminated
  • Scheduled or active workflows that depend on Microsoft To-Do will stop executing
  • Microsoft To-Do-dependent workflow steps will fail safely with clear error messages
  • Existing workflow definitions within Supervity are not deleted — only the active connection is terminated
  • Historical execution logs remain available for auditing purposes

Disconnecting Microsoft To-Do does not delete workflow definitions, operators, or previously generated outputs.

How Your Data Is Handled After Removal

Data Handling on Removal:

  • Supervity immediately loses access to your Microsoft To-Do account upon removal
  • Webhook subscriptions are deleted from Microsoft Graph
  • No new tasks or task list data will be collected or processed after disconnection
  • Temporary files processed during workflow execution are deleted after execution completes
  • Microsoft To-Do access tokens and all account-related data are permanently deleted from Supervity's platform within 15 minutes of disconnection — no background access continues after removal

Auditing & Observability

All Microsoft To-Do activity performed through Supervity is logged.

Audit records include:

  • Which operator requested access
  • Which workflow executed the action or received the trigger event
  • Timestamp of execution
  • Success or failure status
  • Relevant inputs and outputs (sensitive values are redacted)

This supports compliance, troubleshooting, governance, and operational visibility.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues at any stage, refer to the steps below. For issues not covered here, contact the Supervity support team.

Authorization Failed During Setup

Likely Cause: Incorrect Microsoft account credentials, or organizational tenant policies restricting third-party application consent.

Resolution:

  1. Ensure you are signed in to the correct Microsoft account.
  2. If using a corporate or school account, check with your Microsoft 365 tenant administrator to confirm third-party app consent is allowed.
  3. Return to Supervity → Integrations → Microsoft To-Do and click Connect to retry.

Microsoft To-Do Shows Connected but Tasks Are Missing

Likely Cause: Selected task list ID does not match the list containing the tasks, or tasks belong to a different account.

Resolution:

  1. Verify that the task list ID provided matches the list in your Microsoft To-Do account (use todo_list_task_lists to view valid list IDs).
  2. Confirm the account connected to Supervity is the one containing the desired tasks.
  3. Reconnect the integration via Integrations → Microsoft To-Do → Reconnect to refresh permissions.

Connection Expired or Token Invalid

Likely Cause: Microsoft security policies or password changes forced token revocation.

Resolution:

  1. Go to Integrations → Microsoft To-Do → Reconnect.
  2. Complete the Microsoft authorization flow again.
  3. Existing workflows do not need to be reconfigured after reconnection.

Workflow Cannot Access Microsoft To-Do

Likely Cause: Microsoft To-Do may have been disconnected, or workspace governance policies may restrict access.

Resolution:

  1. Confirm Microsoft To-Do is still connected under the Integrations page.
  2. Verify the workflow has permission to use Microsoft To-Do within your workspace governance settings.
  3. Check that workspace policies allow Microsoft To-Do execution for the relevant operators or workflows.

Creating or Updating Tasks Fails

Likely Cause: Invalid list ID, missing task title, or invalid due date format.

Resolution:

  1. Ensure the list ID exists in Microsoft To-Do.
  2. Confirm that a non-empty task title is provided.
  3. If specifying due dates, ensure the date-time string is properly formatted in ISO format.

Real-Time Triggers Not Firing

Likely Cause: The webhook subscription expired or the watched task list ID was deleted.

Resolution:

  1. Verify that the task list configured in the workflow trigger still exists in Microsoft To-Do.
  2. Check workflow execution history in Supervity to confirm trigger registration status.
  3. Re-save or re-enable the workflow to re-register the webhook subscription.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is my Microsoft password shared with or stored by Supervity?

No. Supervity uses Microsoft's standard OAuth 2.0 authorization flow. Your Microsoft password is never shared with or stored by Supervity. Only scoped access tokens are stored, and these are encrypted at rest using AES-256.

Q: What Microsoft account types are supported?

Personal Microsoft accounts (@outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com) as well as Work or School Microsoft 365 accounts with Microsoft To-Do enabled are supported.

Q: Can I watch multiple task lists for changes simultaneously?

Yes. You can configure multiple workflow triggers, each watching a distinct task list ID, to react to task creations and updates across different lists.

Q: Will I need to reconfigure my workflows after reconnecting Microsoft To-Do?

No. If you reconnect Microsoft To-Do due to token expiry or permission updates, existing workflow definitions, triggers, and operators do not need to be recreated or reconfigured.

Q: What happens to my workflows if I disconnect or remove Microsoft To-Do?

Workflow definitions are not deleted when Microsoft To-Do is disconnected or removed. However, active webhook subscriptions are terminated, and any workflow steps that depend on Microsoft To-Do will fail safely with clear error messages until Microsoft To-Do is reconnected.
