Slack Integration
'Connect Slack to Supervity, authorize access, and use Slack data and actions in operators and workflows.'
This guide explains how to connect Slack to Supervity, what capabilities become available after connection, how operators and workflows can use Slack, and how to manage or remove the integration when needed.
Overview
The Supervity Slack integration enables your organization to securely connect Slack with AI operators and workflows.
Once connected, operators and workflows can retrieve Slack information, communicate with users and channels, automate collaboration, synchronize workspace data, and coordinate work across connected enterprise systems.
With the Slack integration, Supervity can:
- Send, update, and delete Slack messages
- Retrieve historical messages from channels, direct messages, group conversations, and threads
- Search messages, channels, and files across the authorized Slack workspace
- Access channel information and manage Slack channels
- Retrieve user information, profiles, presence, and channel memberships
- Upload files and access Slack file metadata and contentx
- Add, remove, and retrieve message reactions
- Create, list, and delete Slack reminders
- Synchronize new messages and files using incremental (delta) synchronization
- Use Slack conversations and workspace data as context for operators
- Automate collaboration across connected enterprise applications
All Slack access is governed through Supervity's security, permissions, and audit controls.

Adding the Slack Integration
Follow these steps to connect Slack to Supervity. If you encounter any issues during setup, refer to the Troubleshooting section of this guide.
Step 1: Open Integrations
- Log in to Supervity.
- From the left navigation bar, click the Integrations icon.
This opens the Integrations page, where all available integrations are listed. Connected integrations and available integrations can both be managed from this page.
Step 2: Select Slack
- Locate Slack in the available integrations list.
- Click Connect.
Step 3: Authorize Access
You will be redirected to Slack's authorization page.
Review the requested permissions and click Allow to authorize Supervity to access your Slack workspace.
- Supervity uses Slack's standard OAuth 2.0 authorization flow.
- Your Slack password is never shared with or stored by Supervity.
- You can review the permissions requested before completing authorization.
Step 4: Complete Connection
After authorization, you will be redirected back to Supervity.
The Slack integration will appear as Connected on the Integrations page. Your workspace can now securely access Slack capabilities according to the permissions granted.
Step 5: Start Using Slack
Once connected:
- Slack actions become available to operators and workflows.
- Operators can securely retrieve Slack data and perform supported Slack actions based on the granted permissions.
- Workflows can use Slack to automate communication, retrieve workspace information, and coordinate work across connected systems.
- You can manage or disconnect the Slack integration at any time from the Integrations page.

How Slack Works in Supervity
After connection, Slack becomes available as a governed platform capability.
Operators can use Slack capabilities when planning and executing tasks, while workflows can automate messaging, collaboration, synchronization, and information retrieval using Slack data.
Common use cases include:
- Sending messages to users and channels
- Managing Slack channels
- Retrieving historical conversations
- Searching workspace messages and files
- Accessing user profiles and presence information
- Uploading and retrieving files
- Managing reminders and reactions

- Triggering downstream workflows
Using Slack in Operators
Connected Slack capabilities become available to operators automatically. Operators determine when Slack data or actions are required to complete a task and execute accordingly, while remaining governed by workspace permissions, security controls, and approval policies.
What Operators Can Do with Slack
Operators can perform the following actions using Slack:
- Send, update, and delete messages in channels and direct conversations
- Retrieve historical channel, direct message, group conversation, and thread history
- Search messages, channels, and files across the authorized workspace
- Create and update Slack channels
- Retrieve workspace users, user profiles, presence, and channel memberships
- Upload files and retrieve file metadata and content
- Add, remove, and retrieve reactions on Slack messages
- Create, list, and delete reminders
- Synchronize newly created messages and files using delta synchronization
- Correlate Slack activity with CRM, support, project management, HR, or other connected systems
- Generate summaries, insights, follow-up actions, and operational reports using Slack workspace data
- Combine Slack with other connected applications for end-to-end workflow automation
